Grandmaster since 2017, Lei Tingjie reached the peak of her form after the pandemic, sweeping the competition at the Women's Grand Swiss 2021 and winning the Candidates Tournament 2023 by convincing victory over Tan Zhongyi in the final. Lei is rated #5 in the world and is eager to reach up to the sky and claim the chess crown.
Women's World Champion since 2018, Chinese star Ju Wenjun first won the crown in a match against her compatriot Tan Zhongyi. She defended her title twice, winning the 64-player knockout tournament in 2018 and a match against Aleksandra Goryachkina in 2020. Experience and impeccable professionalism make Ju a formidable opponent.
